Highly Ranked South Sumter Runs Past Patriots

The Patriots fell 41-6 on Friday night to a highly ranked and powerful South Sumter Warrior team. The Warriors were led by their powerful running game that gashed the Patriot defense for big runs. The Patriots gave up a touchdown on the last play of the first half that allowed the Warriors to have breathing rooom heading into the second half at 21-0. The Freedom offense put its one and only scoring drive together late in the third quarter with the touchdown coming on a pass from Justin Schindler to Rommel Stimphil. The offense was paced on Friday once again by Richardson Charles who ran the ball 21 times for 66 yards. On the defensive side of the ball, Marc Beauzil led the team in tackles with 8 total (5 solo). Josh Rictor and Leandro Ferreira each had 1.5 tackles for loss to help slow the Warrior attack. The Patriots continue to work hard and focus their attention on the next game. This Friday night will be the first away game of the season for the Patriots. They will travel to Winter Park to take on the Wildcats (1-1). The Wildcats are also coming off a loss to West Orange 42-14. The contest will kickoff at 7:30pm.
